This policy outlines the copyright and licensing terms for articles submitted to the EMP Blog of the Japan Society for Medical English Education (JASMEE).
1. Author Rights and Licensing Choice
All contributors retain the copyright of their submitted articles. Authors are free to choose the license under which their article will be published on the EMP Blog. The available licensing options are:
Creative Commons Licenses (encouraged):
- CC BY (Attribution)
- CC BY-SA (Attribution-ShareAlike)
- CC BY-ND (Attribution-NoDerivatives) – default
- CC BY-NC (Attribution-NonCommercial)
- CC BY-NC-SA (Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike)
- CC BY-NC-ND (Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives)
Alternative Option:
- All rights reserved (conventional copyright)
2. Default License
If no specific license is selected by the author at the time of submission, the article will be published under the CC BY-ND (Attribution-NoDerivatives) license by default.
3. Attribution
Regardless of the selected license, proper attribution to the author will be provided with every published article.
4. License Display
The selected license will be clearly indicated at the beginning or end of each article, with a link to the full license text.
